Amira Kanianthra is the owner of Beaverton Physiotherapy, which opened in 2013. Amira is a physiotherapist who trained in Australia at the University of Queensland. After completing her Masters degree, she worked in several different private practices including gyms and Pilates studios.
Amira returned to Canada in 2012 and was working in Sutton when she recognized the Township of Brock could benefit from a local physiotherapy clinic was a location that was lacking physiotherapy. Having worked in a small community for several years, she fell in love with the small-town appeal. She worked with the township and was able to set up shop in January 2013 as Beaverton Physiotherapy.
Since then, Beaverton Physiotherapy remains committed to serving the community. We believe in going the extra mile. We have a very dynamic team with a variety of strengths and complementary skill sets. The unique experience and passion that each professional brings to the table allows us to treat a variety of pathologies. We all share a common goal to help each individual reach their highest potential in health. As a result, our staff is continually taking courses in their areas of interest to keep up with the latest research and clinical techniques.
MEET THE TEAM
The McKenzie Method® of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy® (MDT) is a method of assessment and treatment for spinal and extremity pain developed by Physiotherapist Robin McKenzie 30+ years ago.
MDT approach involves a detailed discussion and assessment to find the cause of your injury and then to educate and treat you appropriately, using specific exercises and manual therapy to help improve your pain and function.
Mehdi is a Mckenzie certified practionner and enjoys coming to work and figuring out challenging cases using the Mckenzie method. He is able to solve more difficult cases as he works with the client to understand their injuries and goals and educates the client about the possible mechanisms of their injury and what is happening in their bodies.
